Desires and Abhors

My post today shall be on the principal speech. While I found it very interesting on this occasion, I felt that Mr Syed has unfornately contradicted himself in these two parts he gave.

Part One.
He talked about reaping what we sow. And in this case, he used seedlings/saplings which would grow into beansprouts, given nourishment and care given by us onto them. The nourishment and care or effort spent on them, is equivalent to how much effort we put into studying and CONSISTENTLY doing our homework(which I unfortunately havent done so -.-), and the end result is what we actually reap and how much effort and time we put in. One important thing he mentioned, it is possible that, we sow 10 seedlings or saplings, but we only get 2 in return at the end of the day. Okay, this is my personal view. Cause the actual statement he gave was it is not possible to get all 10 seedlings turn into beansprouts at the end of the term. The process is which we 'nurture' these seedlings is very very important. Just like our consistent commitment to studies is very important, for last minute work is getting tougher and not practical anymore.
So I presume that his main point was CONSISTENCY.

And Part Two.
It actually shocked me when he finished this. Felt a tad disappointed the principal said this. Suspense no more, let me tell you what he said. He mentioned about Mr Karamjit bringing students to the East Coast park to jog or cycle every saturday. And that he doesn't mind spending a few hundred dollars if they actually reap results. However the problem is that, from his mouth, one time a week IS NOT GOING TO HELP MUCH or even AT ALL. Yes he said that. And then he said, 'If you eat once a week, then cycling once a week is good, BUT if you eat everyday, three meals somemore, and some of them eat alot, then how does cycling once a week even help?!'
Most of the people around me had this first reaction, "Mr Karamjit kena JACKED, ha ha ha.". Okay, sometimes we do find Mr Karamjit a little irritating and too playful. Haha. No offence. But this is totally ridiculous. It seems that the principal is actually a little unhappy that money is being spent like that. And results are not showing. I beg to differ. I believe, that Mr Karamjit' main point, is to actually INCORPORATE HEALTHY LIVING, and making EXERCISES a part of the students' lives that is the key here. I am in fact quite astounded how the principal seeks short term plans and excessive treatment over here. Since he said, we should be exercising everyday since we eat everyday. Mr Syed, with no due inrespect meant, it is common knowledge, that we cannot exercise vigourously with a main purpose to lose weight everyday. The time our muscles actually FORM and take SHAPE, is the recovery period. Which means, that after every vigourous workout, you need a protein-full recovery period, to actually see results. And INCORPORATING HEALTHY LIVING AND EXERCISES into students' lives is something that is CONSISTENT. The results would be CONSISTENT showings from students. This totally goes against his Part One speech. So a major boo-booo. Again, no due inrespect, lah.

Felt sorry for Mr Karamjit. I feel he really wants to make students put healthy living into their lifestyles. And he jogs everyday, good example. If you even notice, he was much dead in tone when he took the mike after that. Dont let this stop you from trying anything, cher!

P.S: Maybe the principal has other meanings or maybe he has failed to really express what he REALLY meant, but all I've said here is what I've seen and heard today, and most importantly, felt. Consideration would be important. And erms, long term plans?

I hate masquerades. I think that life is cruel and want to change it. But to do that, I would have to firstly change my life. Hmmm. Enjoys sports and physical activities, but am going through a bad patch after a horrible injury.

Im bored stiff at the moment. Ha
