My previous post may seem to confuse initially, but once you get it you see the whole picture. Hmm.

I cannot exactly remember whether I've posted on this topic 'Computer nation' before, I'm gonna do it again so IF I have done this before, please bear with it. (My memory's failing me =S)
Okay, so about one month ago, I caught this one the news 'How Singapore aims to be connected by computerality(i coined this word haha) within 10 years' time'. There was pretty elaborate information, on how Singapore would be like within ten years time, if this plan do get achieved. So, going by the news, Singaporeans would be extensively covered by technological advances and these advances would also be the means of 'connecting the nation'. The nation would ensure that every home will possess at least one computer, the people will be updated on how to use it to its utmost 'usefulness', and how virtually everything could and can be done on via the computer.(no pun intended) The one ridiculous thing they also broadcasted on this, was a small clip showing an eldery 'visiting the doctor' using her MOBILE PHONE. Yes, a doctor visit via the phone. Come on, it's not going to work. There are always factors which require 'touches' of professionals to actually give some clue to what might have had caused the infection/illness/itch or anything. How 'professional' are doctors going to get in the future if they were to prescribe and save patients with an equipment called the mobile phone, and this equipment was initally meant to provide users with the ability to contact and message someone else via its calls and sms-es. And this mobile phone is turning into some television box with camera with i mode contained in a cigarrette box sized piece of metal. Kay Im getting off-track. (This part is just one example to prove my point.)

Back to it. And the news stated this government organisation started this. I can't remember the organisation initials, apologies. Haven't these people done or studied SOCIAL STUDIES BOOK 4 CHAPTER ONE THE WELFARE STATE OF BRITAIN? This is looking to be exactly the same sort of situation. One primary aim, without realising the possible casualties of it.

The big casualty would number one, be us. In what way you may say, since everything is going to turn so bloody convenient. Do you even realise that there is a considerable drop in amount of people putting their feet out of their cosy homes to actually do something? For example, shopping can be done via computer, booking travel tickets via computer, communicating via softwares in computer, and reading my blog like what you re doing now. (But I aint no potato coach at least.) As a result, the obesity rate would rise taller than the malaysian towers and Mount Everest. People would start getting hunch-backed, due to the excessive amount of time they spend sitting down and using the computer. EVOLUTION OF HUMANS TO A LESS PHYSICAL STATE MIGHT ALSO HAPPEN.

Number two, casualty is nature. Who would actually really care for Nature? The greens? Other than aristocratic bastards who swing their clubs at balls on the greens? For their pure entertainment.

Think of how pollution would affect us more when the greens lessen. There are far too many casualties. Let's all boycott the computer nation.

And one very stinging comment I would like to make. Our nation, does not live up to its premature aims and goals they would like to achieve. Two years ago, they came up with GOAL 2010 and got everyone started. And now, this computer nation. GOAL 2010 seems to be failing terribly, especially in the way the SNSC actually initially denied the Young Lions chance of clawing at the Asian games Soccer trophy. If you wouldnt even give a chance for Asia, dont talk world. Hence, I think, the government should be a little more pragmatic in what they aim for. With more consideration. Especially without making things end like a joke.

My main point is,
It s good to do something, but sometimes, excessiveness is extravagance. Like in this case, I think that our computer technology should be stopping somewhere soon, by ourselves. Too much convenience does not produce happiness or sincerity. Ha.

Apologies if the organisation is not goverment based or anything. But, it was in the news, lah. And Singapore news, somewhat always linked to government.

I hate masquerades. I think that life is cruel and want to change it. But to do that, I would have to firstly change my life. Hmmm. Enjoys sports and physical activities, but am going through a bad patch after a horrible injury.

Im bored stiff at the moment. Ha
