How many people still remember this picture? Dated 1985, it set many people thinking. For the intent gaze and the murderous look, was astonishing, from a little girl then. Shocked most I'd say. This picture shall be a reminder to those who've forgotten about this picture!
Hmmm, boring week. Been very preocupied in my thoughts of recent. Weird thing is Im actually very bothered by nothing by myself. Things I ve been doing, are they correct? Are they wise? What else should I be doing? Who am I living for? And am I living for the three letter word 'fun' of recent?
Two recent movies; Click and Singapore Dreaming. Hmmms. Click was fantastic whilst Singapore Dreaming required a more mature audience, definitely not for kids. Click showed a straight forward theme mid way through, and it was damn touching. How it stuck right into my heart, very very meaningful and powerful movie I'd say. A magazine review gave it 3/5 stars and I was left cursing the editors. Ha. Singapore Dreaming, as I said, is for more mature audiences, kinda tough to actually get its point initially. And my movie time was heavily disrupted by inconsiderate citizens. Three in fact, one young kid, primary school level, a mother and a guy. The boy was damn gei-kiang and more fascinated with the urinating in the lift and the way he deduced the maid stole the money blahblahblah. Whilst the mother was very inconsiderate because her mouth never stopped. Like trying to act as some translator whenever the content was in foreign to us language, as in, Hokkien and so on. WHAT ARE THE BLOODY SUBTITLES FOR? They got on my nerves so bad I kept turning to give -im irritated, please lower down your volume or keep quiet- look. BUT THEY WENT ON. Until the guy kept asking them to "diam la, stop talking please. People also watching. " in a hushed tone. But they still went on. Spoilt my movie time. I didnt pay money to listen to adults trying to explain the movie to little kids when its ongoing. I mean, if someone shows hes been affected by your actions the most polite thing is to stop whatever you're doing right? Its not fair. I was very very tempted a few times, to actually turn and request they lower their volumes down by great measures because its affecting my comprehension of the movie, but I still decided against it in the end. Bleah.
The usual things went on after that, training, supper with coaches and friends and some discussion over things. One very bright thing this day was my taxi trip. The taxi driver was brilliant, he was very friendly and considerate, explained to us the route he chose to take to better tackle the two destinations we ordered, first to my friend's place and then to mine. And we went on to have a exciting conversation abouts sports, all sorts of sports. He was more fascinated in China's advancements in every sort of sport. Gymnastics left him the deepest impression. Ha. Was a superb taxi driver, the way he communicates with his clients and passengers. He was an indian, but still, we managed to produce a great conversation. Things always do better when we put the racial barrier aside, it really does. Especially in Singapore.
